Location: Los Angeles, with the headquarters in Torrance, California. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under U.S. Government export regulations.
Salary: $112,000–$150,000 per year, plus stock options.

is a Series C clean-energy and aerospace startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.
What you will do
- Develop, qualify, maintain, and document welding procedures, WPS, PQRs, and welder performance qualifications.
- Select welding processes, filler metals, joint designs, shielding methods, and parameters for demanding materials and components.
- Support welded hardware from prototype design through production, inspection, testing, and final acceptance.
- Create work instructions, process controls, weld maps, inspection criteria, and technical specifications.
- Lead investigations into weld defects, distortion, cracking, leakage, and other fabrication nonconformances, including repair and rework procedures.
- Coordinate with design, materials, manufacturing, quality, test engineers, suppliers, and external fabrication partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in welding engineering, joining processes, or welded hardware manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of fusion welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, PAW, laser welding, or electron beam welding.
- Experience developing or supporting welding procedures and welder qualifications.
- Understanding of welding metallurgy, heat-affected zones, solidification, distortion, residual stress, weld defects, drawings, weld symbols, and inspection requirements.
- Ability to work hands-on with production personnel and independently resolve manufacturing challenges.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, nuclear, pressure vessel, power generation, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience with stainless steels, nickel-based superalloys, refractory metals, dissimilar metals, or pressure-boundary and leak-tight assemblies.
- Knowledge of ASME Section IX, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, AWS D17.1, AWS D1.1, or equivalent standards.
- Experience with advanced welding, weld fixtures, tooling, purge systems, inspection, post-weld heat treatment, and failure investigations.
- CWI, IWE, or similar professional qualification.
