Welding Engineer (New Grad)

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and qualify laser beam, friction stir, gas tungsten arc, and orbital tube welding processes.
• Collaborate with design, tooling, automation, manufacturing, and materials engineers to improve welded assemblies for production.
• Support manufacturing of Helios tanks, Deneb engine weldments, and Mira components.
• Set up welding qualification campaigns and interpret mechanical testing and NDE results.
• Support production operations by guiding manufacturing engineers and welders on welding techniques and standardized procedures.
• Develop automated welding solutions, evaluate new technologies, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on fabrication, manufacturing, or testing experience with welded assemblies.
• Experience or understanding of welding processes, weld qualification, strength testing, and NDE methods.
• Experience with materials such as aluminum, nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, titanium, or copper is preferred.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in welding engineering or a related technical program.
• Experience with brazing, joining, metallographic interpretation, tooling design, or robot programming.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and AWS welding and testing standards.
• Experience with optical or SEM fractography, hardness testing, chemical analysis, and mechanical testing.
