Automation Engineer (Python/TypeScript)

Location: Remote in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, or Argentina, with meaningful overlap with US business hours.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building services, integrations, internal tooling, or automation infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, pagination, rate limits, queues, asynchronous jobs, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing retries, idempotency, distributed systems, recovery patterns, logging, monitoring, testing, Git, and CI/CD.
• Ability to reverse-engineer undocumented workflows and migrate them into reliable production software.
• Availability for meaningful overlap with US business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with Temporal.io or another orchestration framework.
• Experience with n8n, Zapier, or Make, especially migrating workflows away from no-code platforms.
• Experience with Supabase, event-driven architectures, Docker, cloud deployment, recruiting or CRM integrations, and AI/LLM workflow infrastructure.

What you will do

• Migrate business-critical automations from n8n, Zapier, and similar platforms into maintainable software services.
• Reverse-engineer triggers, dependencies, business rules, retries, and undocumented edge cases, while sequencing migrations by business criticality and reliability risk.
• Build durable, long-running workflows with Temporal.io or a comparable orchestration framework, including retries, timeouts, idempotency, checkpoints, and state management.
• Develop reusable integrations across CRM and recruiting systems, Supabase/PostgreSQL, Google Sheets, Slack, and internal APIs.
• Implement structured logging, monitoring, alerting, execution visibility, reconciliation, audit trails, and mechanisms to replay or recover stuck jobs.
• Document architecture and recovery procedures and establish reliability standards for the automation infrastructure.
