Engineer - Electrical, Data Center (LV/MV Electrical Engineering): Designing and checking electrical systems for data center and building engineering projects with an accent on load analysis, network design, protection schemes, BIM coordination, and Revit. Focus on developing complex electrical calculations, specifying equipment and construction standards, and coordinating accurate multidisciplinary design outputs under project budgets and schedules.
Location: Hybrid role based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa; in-person Day 1 onboarding at an office is required.

What you will do
- Perform electrical engineering assignments for data center and building engineering projects.
- Develop and check LV and MV electrical designs, including load lists, single-line diagrams, network diagrams, cable routing, and lighting layouts.
- Complete fault-level calculations, protection scheme modelling, protection settings, earthing assessments, and cable sizing calculations.
- Specify electrical equipment such as switchgear, distribution boards, motor control centres, transformers, UPS systems, cables, and lighting.
- Coordinate with engineers from other disciplines, participate in design meetings, and review BIM/CAD model quality.
- Prepare technical plans and reports while delivering work within agreed budgets and schedules under moderate supervision.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience after obtaining the relevant qualification.
- BSc or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA.
- Proficiency in Revit BIM software.
- Experience with detailed electrical engineering of LV and MV systems, including electrical networks, protection, metering, earthing, lighting, and equipment specification.
