Maintenance Technician (Engineering)

What you will do

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system failures efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and calibration activities using IFS.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to minimize disruption.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and performance verification of new production lines.
• Ensure all maintenance and calibration activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, calibration, and repair of industrial equipment.
• National Diploma in Mechatronics, Metrology, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent trade certification.
• Proven expertise in preventive/predictive maintenance and root cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with CMMS, ERP systems, and calibration management software.
• Preference given to South African citizens.

Nice to have

• Experience in environments with ESD controls and environmental chambers.
• Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
• Familiarity with lean maintenance practices like 5S/6S.
