Site Management Team Lead (Power Transformers and High-Voltage Equipment): Supervising transformer installation, assembly, service, and commissioning projects for Grid Technologies in Southern and Eastern Africa with an accent on technical leadership, electromechanical troubleshooting, site logistics, and high-voltage safety. Focus on leading field technicians and subcontractors, resolving complex equipment issues, coordinating customers and project stakeholders, and completing accurate commissioning documentation.

Location: Wadeville, Gauteng, South Africa; onsite role

What you will do

Supervise the onsite installation, assembly, and commissioning of power transformers and associated high-voltage equipment.
Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting for complex electromechanical issues during installation and service.
Manage site logistics, resource allocation, documentation, and project timelines.
Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to field service technicians and subcontractors.
Conduct daily site briefings and toolbox talks, delegate tasks, and review work quality.
Coordinate with customers, project managers, and stakeholders while maintaining progress and commissioning reports.

Requirements

Vocational qualification or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current), Electromechanics, or a related technical field.
Extensive experience supervising the installation and commissioning of power transformers and high-voltage substation equipment.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing onsite technical teams and subcontractors in a project environment.
Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment repair, preventive maintenance, engineering drawings, hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
Experience with customer relationship management, report writing, and process improvement.
10-Hour OSHA General Industry Card.
