Platform Engineer (VMware/Azure)

Location: DXC Auckland Viaduct Harbour, Auckland, New Zealand. NZ citizenship is mandatory. The work model prioritizes in-person collaboration while offering flexibility.

What you will do

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise Windows Server, VMware, on-premises Wintel, and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including patching, upgrades, remediation, and lifecycle management.
• Support VMware Site Recovery Manager and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
• Support hybrid cloud infrastructure and Azure workload migrations.
• Contribute to infrastructure optimization, continuous improvement, operational standards, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with technical teams, customers, and stakeholders to resolve infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and VMware technologies.
• Enterprise troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
• Experience with ITIL, change management, and incident management processes.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• VMware VCP or VCF certification.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator AZ-104 or equivalent certification.
• Experience with VMware SRM, vSAN, HA, DRS, and vMotion.
• Experience with Azure VMs, networking, storage, monitoring, and Entra ID.
• PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, Terraform, or other automation experience.
