Junior Fleet Operations Engineer

Location: On-site at hirify.global’s Auckland HQ, New Zealand. Full-time role with some rostered on-call, including weekend coverage.

What you will do

• Monitor fleet performance metrics to identify collar and tower issues proactively.
• Investigate technical support tickets, triage inbound incidents, assess severity, and coordinate escalation.
• Work with Tier 1 Support, Fleet Engineering, Deployment, Product, Customer Experience, and Software teams to drive resolution.
• Build and improve internal tools, dashboards, automations, and workflows for fleet monitoring and incident response.
• Improve alerting logic, trend analysis, failure-mode detection, investigation checklists, and escalation pathways.
• Maintain documentation and, when useful, visit customer farms to support hardware troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Confidence working with systems and data, including dashboards, workflows, logs, tools, and APIs.
• Ability to improve internal tools, design scalable workflows, and identify patterns in data.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, strong time management, and prioritisation skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and supporting farmers and ranchers.
