IT Systems Engineer I

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's Auckland Production Complex in Mt. Wellington, Auckland, New Zealand

hirify.global is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems for space and communications missions.

What you will do

• Implement, administer, and operate platform and operating system environments, including VMware, Kubernetes, Linux, and Windows Server and Client.
• Support cloud infrastructure and deliver infrastructure projects in collaboration with IT, engineering, and business professionals.
• Plan and deploy infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes.
• Build and maintain automated processes for software delivery, application packaging, operating system deployment, and configuration management through the enterprise SCCM hierarchy.
• Create, test, and distribute operating systems, application packages, scripts, and batch programs.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues and perform risk mitigation during system changes and transitions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience plus a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma or GED and 6+ years of total experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI certificate management, DNS, or DHCP.
• Experience with AWS and/or O365 and Azure enterprise environments.
• Experience with one or more of Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, configuration management, automation, or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with server and storage hardware, backups, NetApp, Pure Storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, or VoIP phone systems.
• New Zealand applicants must be eligible to access equipment and data regulated by U.S. ITAR requirements; nationality checks will be conducted before an offer.

Nice to have

• Specialist qualifications in AWS, Azure, Microsoft, or a related area.
• Experience with Juniper or Cisco switching, IPsec, SSL VPNs, or firewalls.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, CMMC, or CUI security frameworks and technologies.
• Fortinet firewall configuration and management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
