TL;DR
Staff Systems Engineer, Integration (Aerospace): Developing and integrating safety-critical avionics and autonomy systems across aircraft with an accent on requirements traceability, system architecture, certification, and flight-test integration. Focus on coordinating hardware, software, safety, simulation, and test disciplines, validating interfaces, and demonstrating compliant systems for civil and military aviation.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts (hybrid strongly preferred), or remote within the United States

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

hirify.global is an aerospace and defense company developing a non-human pilot and full-stack autonomy platform for aircraft from takeoff to touchdown.

What you will do

  • Guide systems development and requirements traceability from capture and design decisions through final demonstrations across aircraft integrations.
  • Develop concepts of operation, functional and physical architectures, system requirements, performance measures, and certification plans.
  • Coordinate requirements and interfaces across safety, hardware, software, simulation, and test engineering teams.
  • Lead architecture design reviews and act as the primary technical stakeholder across supporting disciplines.
  • Manage systems engineering tasking and contribute to development plans and engineering processes.
  • Review technical artifacts with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, systems engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience in FAA, EASA, or military certification programs, or 8+ years with a master’s degree.
  • Experience solving complex architectural and systems engineering problems across aircraft integration and software.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and test engineering groups.
  • Experience with requirements management, system-level architecture and interfaces, and requirements validation and verification.
  • Hands-on avionics or integrated mission equipment integration experience using civil or military standards for flight safety, qualification, and airworthiness.

Nice to have

  • General aviation aircraft integration experience, including Cessna Caravan.
  • Experience with automatic flight controls, flight management, or display systems.
  • Experience developing software requirements and performing software verification.
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or military regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with Simulink, Cameo, IADS, Jama, or JIRA.
