Sr. Network Architect (Cisco)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid work with two days per week in the office and additional onsite time as required.

Salary: $80,000–$99,998 per year; listed as up to $100K.

What you will do

• Define and maintain enterprise network architecture principles, design patterns, configuration standards, and implementation guidance.
• Assess current network technologies, identify risks and gaps, and drive modernization roadmaps.
• Lead RFP development, evaluate supplier proposals, and present technology recommendations to senior leadership.
• Partner with engineering, operations, business teams, suppliers, and vendors to deliver network solutions.
• Provide architectural support for complex operational escalations, root cause analysis, and durable remediation.
• Establish governance guardrails and advance automation, AI-enabled tooling, and network analytics.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive enterprise network engineering or architecture experience.
• Deep expertise across LAN, WAN, wireless, security, and cloud-adjacent services.
• Experience with Cisco ACI, Cisco SDA, enterprise routing and switching, and MPLS.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise or manufacturing wireless deployments and distributed network environments.
• Experience leading RFP processes, presenting recommendations to senior or executive leadership, and managing vendor relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks and Zscaler secure access technologies, including SASE, ZIA, and ZPA.
• Experience with private cellular, Distributed Antenna Systems, and two-way radio.
• Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, Cisco ThousandEyes, AI, automation frameworks, and network analytics platforms.
• Experience with enterprise network transformation or large-scale migration programs.
• CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, or equivalent advanced certification.
