TL;DR
Senior Engineer - Electrical, Data Center (Electrical Engineering): Designing and managing electrical engineering solutions for data center and built-environment projects with an accent on low- and medium-voltage systems, protection schemes, equipment specifications, and construction documentation. Focus on performing system studies, coordinating vendors and contractors, supporting commissioning, and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Location: Hybrid role based in Centurion/Pretoria, South Africa, with in-person Day 1 onboarding at an office.

What you will do
- Prepare electrical engineering designs, schedules, estimates, progress reports, procurement documentation, tenders, and bills of quantities.
- Design and review low-voltage and medium-voltage systems up to 132kV, including load lists, network diagrams, cable systems, lighting, earthing, and protection schemes.
- Develop specifications for switchgear, transformers, motors, MCCs, UPS systems, VSDs, power-factor correction equipment, cables, lighting, BMS, communications, and fire detection systems.
- Perform system studies such as short-circuit, load-flow, motor-starting, and protection-coordination analyses.
- Coordinate vendor data, equipment inspections, factory acceptance testing, contractors, construction support, commissioning, handover, and closeout documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, support standard engineering methodologies, develop client relationships, and assist with tender preparation.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in the built environment after obtaining the relevant qualification.
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Professional registration as an Engineer with ECSA.
- Experience with electrical design, power-system studies, protection systems, equipment specifications, and construction documentation.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in South Africa and attend in-person office onboarding.
