TL;DR
Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (Aerospace): Supporting EHS programs across manufacturing and laboratory operations with an accent on regulatory compliance, workplace inspections, safety documentation, and training coordination. Focus on identifying hazards, investigating incidents, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining compliance with OSHA, explosives, transportation, and environmental requirements.

Location: Onsite in Penrose, Colorado, with an eventual transition to Pueblo, Colorado. Candidates must meet U.S. government export-control eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Salary: $55,000–$75,000 USD annually, excluding benefits and bonuses.

What you will do

  • Support EHS compliance across manufacturing and laboratory operations under the direction of the Safety and Compliance Manager.
  • Conduct facility walk-throughs and hazard assessments, document findings, and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain training logs, inspection reports, incident records, SDS files, and compliance calendars.
  • Coordinate new-hire, job-specific hazard communication, and annual safety training.
  • Support investigations and follow-up for workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, or a related field with 1 year of experience; alternatively, a related master’s degree, 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of progressive EHS experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and applicable federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ability to conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience maintaining compliance documentation, training records, and logs in a regulated industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus the ability to learn safety management and training tracking systems.
  • Must satisfy eligibility requirements for applicable explosives licenses, background investigations, drug-free workplace requirements, and U.S. export-control regulations.

Nice to have

  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical, defense, or industrial environments.
  • Exposure to explosives regulations, HazMat handling, or DOT/PHMSA requirements.
  • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour certification, First Aid/CPR, or another relevant EHS credential.
