Staff Software Engineer - Payments (Fintech)

Salary: $310,392–$324,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the technical foundation for the Money and Payments teams.
• Design and build scalable, critical backend services and payment systems.
• Identify, prioritize, and solve technical challenges affecting growth.
• Architect new solutions and introduce reusable engineering patterns and frameworks.
• Guide teams and influence cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement across the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong backend development skills with Python and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, mentoring, and critical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile technologies or mobile payment systems.
• Experience with fraud and identity systems in fintech.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale systems used by millions of users.
