Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or New York City, United States

Salary: $200K–$300K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Own major areas of the backend infrastructure, including proposing service changes and building new services.
• Design and operate stable, durable, observable, and scalable production systems.
• Build fault-tolerant APIs and services supporting secure and reliable financial data handling.
• Address data consistency, transactional integrity, high availability, and high-throughput asynchronous processing.
• Improve deployment, monitoring, maintainability, and operational resilience.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and brokerage operations professionals.

Requirements

• Backend engineering experience with TypeScript/Node and Python.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and reliable data-processing services.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and containerized infrastructure on AWS.
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site engineering environment and take ownership in ambiguous, fast-moving situations.
• Experience with GraphQL and asynchronous worker systems.
