What you will do

  • Build and refine finite element models to evaluate UAV components and airframe structures.
  • Perform static, modal, fatigue, and vibration analyses, including hand calculations to validate results.
  • Optimize lightweight structures for strength, weight, safety, and manufacturability with design engineers.
  • Support structural test planning for quasi-static, vibration, and shock validation.
  • Analyze flight telemetry and structural test data to improve model accuracy and correlate predictions with performance.
  • Define load cases, material properties, and design margins, and present analysis reports and technical recommendations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in structural analysis, finite element modeling, or aircraft loads analysis.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, HyperWorks, or similar.
  • Strong ability to perform structural strength, stability, and fatigue hand calculations.
  • Knowledge of composite materials, lightweight aerospace structures, and mechanical testing methods.
  • Proficiency with Excel, MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools; ability to collaborate across engineering teams.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with aircraft structural design, UAV airframe development, aerospace testing, modal analysis, or composite modeling.
  • Exposure to NX, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, PLM tools, aerospace standards, or structural certification processes.
  • Ability to obtain S//SAR-level security clearance.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time regular employment with bonus, benefits, and equity.
  • Compensation varies based on skills, experience, licenses, certifications, and work location.
  • Offers are contingent on a cleared background and may include a reference check.
  • Work takes place in a fast-paced, high-tech aerospace engineering environment.
