Senior / Staff Build Reliability Engineer (Integration)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Travel up to 10% and support for mission-critical events outside normal working hours may be required.

Salary: $137,760–$230,472 USD per year, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

• Own build reliability for vehicle integration and test work centers, defining expectations for reliability, manufacturability, and build and flight readiness.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance to establish scalable quality and verification plans across the product lifecycle.
• Define integration readiness criteria for flight hardware, including process qualification, design for manufacturability and assembly, inspectability, documentation, tooling, training, and process controls.
• Lead containment, root-cause investigations, risk mitigation, recovery planning, and verification of corrective actions for high-impact vehicle issues.
• Analyze build data, lead build quality reviews, and influence upstream teams to prevent escapes and improve vehicle reliability.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and mentor individuals and teams to strengthen reliability capabilities across the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, reliability, or design within aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability hardware environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility and influencing technical direction across organizations.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
• Proficiency with reliability and quality tools such as RCA, FMEA, SPC, and control plans, plus expertise in quality systems and standards including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Proven track record of driving systemic improvements and shaping engineering strategy.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical depth in hardware integration, assembly operations, and/or test operations.
