Lead Engineer, New Product Introduction (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Yonezawa-shi, Yamagata, Japan; onsite at the Yonezawa manufacturing facility.

What you will do

• Lead validation and qualification activities for new liquid micro-contamination control filter products, processes, equipment, and facility expansions.
• Guide installation, commissioning, and qualification of production-scale equipment using IQ/OQ protocols.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, increase capacity, minimize variation, and meet KPOV targets.
• Design experiments, analyze data with statistical methods, and lead technical evaluations and root-cause investigations.
• Manage multiple Stage-Gate and product transfer projects, coordinating Operations, R&D, Quality, Equipment and Automation, Facilities, and EH&S teams.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation, manage qualification samples, and support the transition of products from development to production release.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 10–15 years of manufacturing experience, including leadership of processes or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience with filtration-related manufacturing processes and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Six Sigma certification and proficiency in statistical data analysis using MINITAB or similar tools.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, SPC, FMEA, and validation and qualification processes.
• Strong analytical, hands-on technical, project management, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Subject-matter expertise in filtration manufacturing processes.
• Proven success qualifying new facilities, equipment, processes, or products.
