Application Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Onsite in Nagasaki, Japan, with occasional cleanroom work and off-hours customer support as needed. The work location may change after joining to Mie, Hiroshima, Iwate, Kumamoto, Oita, or Hokkaido.

Salary: From ¥7,600,000 gross annual salary, with final compensation determined based on experience and expectations.

What you will do

• Support semiconductor node transition projects and act as the local project lead.
• Drive workstreams, coordinate schedules, and prepare internal and external management reports.
• Introduce new products, demonstrate hirify.global solution value, and conduct product evaluations for high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Understand customer needs, define clear problem descriptions, and lead issue resolution.
• Coordinate engineering activities with hirify.global experts and act as the engineering interface for customers.
• Provide engineering support for DUV, YS, and VCP while collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.

Requirements

• More than 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and more than 2 years in project-related roles.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and workstream leadership skills.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and MATLAB.
• Japanese at JLPT N1 or native level, with the ability to lead technical discussions in Japanese during customer meetings.
• English at TOEIC 600 or higher, with daily conversational ability and the ability to deliver technical presentations and discussions.
• Legal authorization to access controlled technology under U.S. Export Administration Regulations is required before starting work.
