Run Plant Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Apply process technology to liquid chemical batch process equipment and controls.
• Work with shopfloor personnel and cross-functional teams to achieve safety, quality, reliability, and cost goals.
• Own production KPIs by monitoring performance, reporting results, and implementing improvements.
• Implement operational excellence changes and maintain current, standardized documentation through the site MOC process.
• Apply Statistical Process Control to manufacturing processes and maintain production master data in enterprise resource planning systems.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment, lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and train shopfloor personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering; a chemical or mechanical background is preferred.
• Fluent Japanese and English speaking and writing skills are required.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Self-motivated, open-minded, and willing to learn and embrace change.

Nice to have

• Problem-solving and continuous improvement experience, including Six Sigma, root-cause investigation, or Lean.
• Experience in a manufacturing site or specialty chemical industry.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or IATF 16949.
• Familiarity with the semiconductor industry, process safety, or project management processes.
