Engineering Manager (React)

Location: United States; salary ranges are specified for candidates living in the United States, including separate ranges for New York City and San Francisco.

Salary: $167,000–$230,000 annually for candidates outside New York City and San Francisco; $183,000–$253,000 annually for candidates in New York City and San Francisco.

What you will do

• Lead the Classroom Experience engineering team responsible for the hirify.global Portal and other visible user-facing products.
• Scale fast, robust classroom interfaces serving students, teachers, and administrators.
• Drive development of accessible UIs, next-generation APIs, browser extensions, and expanded resource access.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Marketing to define the roadmap and collaborate with other Engineering Managers on engineering practices.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while building a high-performing and inclusive team.
• Ensure reliable delivery of business-critical software and 99.98%+ uptime.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 5+ years of software development experience with strong full-stack architecture and system design fundamentals.
• Familiarity with authentication concepts extending to device-level login.
• Experience with operational change management and process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and experience managing distributed, remote teams.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and building diverse teams.

Nice to have

• Experience managing products used by millions of concurrent users.
• Experience with business-critical services requiring 99.98%+ uptime.
• Familiarity with Go, Node, TypeScript, React, AWS, and native device technologies.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
