Environmental Health & Safety Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Mojave, California, United States. The role may require up to 10% travel, including to hirify.global headquarters in Long Beach.

Salary: $21.50–$34 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary onsite EHS resource for the Mojave Test Site and implement site-specific safety programs.
• Maintain compliance with CAL OSHA, RCRA, EPA, SCAQMD, DOT, DTSC, and CUPA requirements.
• Coordinate emergency drills and communicate hazardous-operations status with the Mojave Air and Space Port.
• Conduct safety inspections and work-area audits, then track corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage hazardous-waste storage, labeling, inspections, manifests, profiles, spill supplies, and safety equipment.
• Develop LOTO procedures, support JHA reviews, investigate incidents, and coordinate EHS training.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 3–5 years of experience overseeing EHS programs in an industrial or hazardous environment.
• Experience or knowledge involving hazardous waste, RCRA, DOT 49 CFR, HAZWOPER, emergency response, and safety plans.
• Ability to work in construction or industrial settings and stop work or escalate safety concerns when necessary.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, work in tight spaces, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and withstand temperatures from 8°F to 120°F and high winds.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, safety-toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing due to U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Aerospace industry experience.
• Experience overseeing hazardous-waste storage and satellite accumulation areas.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Windows applications.
