Focus on diagnosing mechanical and fluid-system failures, supporting environmental testing, interpreting engineering drawings, and maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Location: El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $30–$50 per hour depending on technician level, skills, education, experience, and performance.

What you will do

  • Assemble, install, integrate, and maintain aerospace mechanical systems and mechanisms such as actuators, hinges, deployment systems, and gear assemblies.
  • Assemble and support fluid handling systems, including valves, tubing assemblies, pumps, and manifolds.
  • Perform functional testing, calibration, validation, and inspection of mechanical components, subsystems, and fluid devices.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and fluid-system issues using schematics, engineering drawings, CAD models, work instructions, and test data.
  • Support environmental and performance testing, including vibration, thermal, and vacuum testing.
  • Maintain build, test, inspection, and validation records while supporting design improvements, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical assembly, preferably in aerospace, satellite, or defense manufacturing.
  • Experience with fluid handling systems, tubing, fittings, pumps, or valves.
  • Proficiency with precision tools, measurement instruments, assembly techniques, and interpretation of engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of gears, bearings, linkages, actuators, adhesive bonding, and component alignment, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, space systems, pharmaceutical, or biotech manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom procedures, contamination control, materials, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Experience with environmental testing and electromechanical systems.
