Mechanical Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Playa Vista, California; in-person, five days per week

Salary: $30–$45 per hour, non-exempt and overtime eligible, based on experience. Annual performance-based bonuses and equity are also offered.

hirify.global is an orbital logistics company building reusable Earth-return vehicles for in-space manufacturing, on-orbit warehousing, precision delivery, and repeatable payload transport.

What you will do

• Assemble, integrate, and inspect mechanical structures and mechanisms for reusable return vehicles.
• Build flight hardware from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.
• Perform fit checks, torque and fastener installation, and precision inspections.
• Support vehicle-level structural and mechanism integration.
• Set up and tear down test hardware during test campaigns.
• Document completed work, flag discrepancies to engineering, and maintain clean and safe work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or technician experience, ideally in aerospace or another high-precision environment.
• Proficiency reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and assembly work instructions.
• Experience with hand tools, torque tools, and precision measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with composites, machining, or structural assembly.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with composite layup, bonding, or precision machining.
• Background in aerospace, automotive, or other precision manufacturing.
• Experience with clean-room or ESD-sensitive procedures.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical or manufacturing disciplines.
