Lead Employee Relations Partner (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; hybrid work with four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Salary: $167,000–$230,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own intake, assessment, investigation, documentation, and resolution of complex employee relations cases.
• Act as the escalation point for high-risk or ambiguous matters, advising on investigation strategy, risk exposure, and outcomes.
• Consult People Partners and business leaders on employment law, corrective action, performance management, conflict resolution, and employee communications.
• Analyze complaints, case data, and investigation outcomes to identify systemic issues and recommend preventative solutions.
• Partner with Legal, People Operations, Compliance, and Benefits on policy interpretation and equitable outcomes.
• Update employee relations frameworks, investigation tools, training, handbook policies, severance guidelines, and regulatory reporting processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in employee relations or HR business partnering in complex, high-growth, or matrixed environments.
• Deep expertise in employment law and HR compliance, including federal, state, and local requirements.
• Strong investigation, mediation, problem-solving, judgment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
