Sr Wire Harness Design Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own the design, routing, integration, qualification, and production of electrical wire harnesses for the Terran R avionics system.
• Design harness connectors, cables, and mechanical supports using 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and electrical design tools.
• Collaborate with structures, electrical hardware, propulsion, software, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams on avionics architecture and requirements.
• Validate flight designs through rapid prototyping and test campaigns.
• Define avionics integration operations, system checkouts, and vehicle-level test plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a full-lifecycle design engineering role.
• Experience designing electrical harnesses and mechanical routing in 3D CAD software.
• Experience integrating and testing complex, multidisciplinary electrical systems.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with NX CAD and Teamcenter.
• Experience with Zuken E3 electrical design software.
• Scripting or software development experience with Python, LabView, or C/C++ to support hardware bring-up.
• Experience developing electrical and mechanical test fixtures, tools, and production harnesses.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-test systems.
