Component Engineer (Gas Turbine)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; travel to customer sites across the western United States

What you will do

• Provide expert engineering support during planned and unplanned gas turbine outages at customer sites across the western United States.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, component inspections, and damage assessments for compressor casings, rotors, and related components.
• Develop, design, and validate modifications, upgrades, and retrofits to improve component reliability, performance, and service life.
• Manage component lifecycles, perform DFMEA, and prepare technical reports, design specifications, and service bulletins.
• Coordinate large-scale engineering projects with sales, project management, manufacturing, repair, and global engineering teams.
• Present technical findings to customers and management, mentor junior engineers, and delegate work on complex projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Typically 8+ years of experience in gas turbine or rotating equipment engineering, focused on compressor components.
• Subject matter expertise in complex engineering projects and on-site technical support.
• Advanced knowledge of large gas turbine compressor casing components and operation.
• Experience with mechanical engineering design, 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, investigation, presentation, writing, and stakeholder management skills.
