Backend Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Los Angeles HQ, hybrid workplace

Salary: $150,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Build and maintain a financial reconciliation data platform with AWS cloud services.
• Develop reliable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications supporting business growth.
• Work with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions and deliver products end-to-end.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, deployment, operational support, and continuous improvement.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience developing backend applications with Python and Django.
• Experience building scalable, production-grade enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with AWS services including SNS, SQS, API Gateway, Step Functions, and S3.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code and other modern engineering assistants.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders and deliver products from ideation through production deployment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, software design, testing, observability, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Glue, S3, and cloud-based data pipelines for processing, transforming, and integrating large-scale business data.
• Experience in retail or ecommerce and applying AI to inventory, fulfillment, customer experience, or financial operations.
