Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York City, San Francisco, or Buenos Aires

Salary: $140,000–$260,000 annual base salary for NYC and San Francisco roles; compensation may vary by location. Total compensation includes equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect and develop high-performance backend systems for AI-driven analytics.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs for real-time insights and data retrieval.
• Optimize pipelines processing large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure security, performance, and reliability across the stack.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and data scientists on high-impact features.
• Own technical decisions while balancing delivery speed and maintainability.

Requirements

• Backend development expertise demonstrated through a strong portfolio or GitHub.
• Proficiency in Node, Python, or Rust and experience with scalable backend architecture.
• Strong database knowledge, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or OLAP databases, with query optimization experience.
• Experience designing data pipelines and working with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security best practices, API authentication, and performance tuning.
