Facilities Software Automation Lead

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $225,000–$263,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead facilities software automation for systems that observe, decide, and act on physical plant.
• Own the architecture from telemetry through decision-making to actuation, incorporating safety and authorization.
• Set engineering standards for software deployed against live infrastructure.
• Design closed-loop control paths, simulation capabilities, and fleet-wide rollout strategies.
• Develop automation systems that can be deployed reliably from one site to many.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams that build software controlling or automating physical systems.
• Experience designing act-on-plant paths with interlocks, authorization, and auditability.
• Experience taking automation from a single site to multiple sites with a practical rollout model.
• Ability to balance delivery speed with the potential blast radius of architectural decisions.
• Ability and willingness to write critical production code.
• Willingness to work on-site in one of the listed US locations.

Nice to have

• Controls background, including PLC or BMS systems.
• Experience with digital twins and simulation.
• Experience with energy systems.
• Experience applying safety-critical software practices.
