Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office

Salary: $164,000–$227,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end development of complex card product features, from technical approach through launch.
• Design and build scalable backend services and frontend applications for web and mobile.
• Lead multi-engineer initiatives by structuring problems, defining scope, and driving execution.
• Collaborate with product, design, risk, credit, legal, and compliance partners.
• Make technical decisions balancing performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Improve engineering quality through code reviews, testing practices, mentoring, and on-call incident response.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade software and reliable user-facing features.
• Experience owning projects or major features through design, implementation, and delivery.
• Strong backend development experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks.
• Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks such as React or React Native.
• Experience with transactional databases, caching systems, and well-tested maintainable code.
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort defining solutions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, lending, credit, or other regulated domains.
