Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: On-site in New York City, United States. Candidates located in or open to relocating to New York City are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $245,000–$300,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• hirify.globalitect and drive complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from conception through production.
• Set technical direction for core platform systems, balancing scalability, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Partner with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-impact features end to end and influence roadmap decisions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on technical guidance.
• Identify and resolve technical debt, infrastructure gaps, and cross-team bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling web-based software products.
• Experience owning and delivering complex technical projects with measurable cross-team impact.
• Deep expertise in full-stack development, distributed systems, or large-scale backend hirify.globalitecture.
• Experience influencing technical direction and aligning teams without formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site daily in the New York City office, or relocate to the listed location.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or on investment platforms.
• Experience as a founding or early-stage engineer at a fast-growing startup.
• Experience building developer tooling, internal platforms, or infrastructure that improves engineering efficiency at scale.
