Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Chicago, New York, or San Francisco, United States; four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office, with a fully remote program also available.

Salary: $164,000–$227,000 base annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Automate scaling, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Build Ruby on Rails and Go tools for self-service across the engineering organization.
• Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure using automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Adapt technologies to improve platform efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Partner with product engineers to build services using modern design patterns, including the 12-Factor App methodology.
• Advocate for safe and reliable AI tools and agentic AI workflows.

Requirements

• More than two years of cloud and infrastructure experience.
• Strong professional development experience with Ruby on Rails and Go.
• Professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Production Engineering role supporting customer-facing web services.
• Experience managing cloud-hosted or self-hosted Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience building and managing highly available public-cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience with Terraform, configuration management, databases, message buses, caching services, monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
