Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week onsite in the Culver City or San Francisco office

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, and operate AWS infrastructure supporting high-availability broker-dealer and clearing workloads.
• Own Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code standards and lead the Kubernetes EKS platform strategy, including cluster lifecycle, Helm governance, service mesh, and autoscaling.
• Improve CI/CD platforms, GitOps workflows, disaster recovery architecture, cross-region failover, and backup automation.
• Define observability, SLO/SLI, alerting, tracing, capacity planning, incident response, and cloud cost optimization practices.
• Establish AWS security, networking, compliance, and database infrastructure standards for regulated financial services.
• Lead AI/ML infrastructure and AI-powered developer tooling initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional architecture projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep production expertise in AWS.
• Expert Terraform skills, including module design, state management, and IaC standards.
• Extensive production Kubernetes experience, preferably with EKS, including multi-tenancy, Helm, and GitOps workflows.
• Strong Linux systems engineering, scripting with Python, Bash, or Go, and expertise in CI/CD, cloud networking, and AWS security.
• Experience operating observability platforms, databases, disaster recovery systems, and highly available architectures at scale.
• Excellent technical communication, documentation, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including 3+ years at senior or staff level.
• Financial services, fintech, broker-dealer, or regulated-industry experience with FINRA or SEC requirements.
• AWS Professional or Specialty certification and experience with Amazon MSK, Kafka, API gateways, policy-as-code, or FinOps.
• Production experience with GPU infrastructure, SageMaker, Bedrock, vector databases, MLOps, AIOps, or AI developer-tool governance.
• Experience authoring RFCs and ADRs, contributing to open source, speaking at conferences, or publishing technical content.
