Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, with 2 days per week in the SF office; candidates must live within commuting distance of San Francisco

Base salary: $148K–$230K plus equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure and orchestration systems using Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD.
• Own developer experience tools and workflows from local development through deployment.
• Build observability systems for performance, reliability, and usage insights.
• Improve production reliability through safer deployments, automated rollback, failover, and platform hardening.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data platform engineers, and product engineers on shared platform tools.
• Build secure infrastructure that enables engineers, operators, and AI agents to collaborate effectively.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong interest in infrastructure, platform, or systems work.
• Strong technical fundamentals and a careful understanding of how systems operate.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and take responsibility for important systems.
• Experience or interest in Kubernetes, high-availability systems, production infrastructure, Terraform, or GitOps workflows.
• Comfort working on internal, non-customer-facing systems with broad ownership.
• Must be based within commuting distance of San Francisco for regular in-person collaboration and mentorship.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal platforms, developer tools, automation systems, or AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Experience in a fast-moving startup environment where engineers own broad technical areas.
