Principal AWS Infrastructure Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote or based in the San Francisco or New York office.

Salary: $170,000–$225,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and expected contribution.

What you will do

• Own Kubernetes and Amazon EKS lifecycle management, including planning and independently executing cluster upgrades.
• Understand, maintain, and improve Terraform-based infrastructure as code at scale.
• Support and evolve AWS enterprise networking, multi-account architecture, containers, and multi-AZ deployments.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and Data teams to meet SOC 2 and FedRAMP-adjacent governance and audit requirements.
• Scale infrastructure with company growth and support broader platform reliability initiatives.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to administer and facilitate hosted infrastructure needs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or a comparable infrastructure role.
• Deep Kubernetes/EKS experience, including independent version upgrades.
• Strong Terraform/IaC, AWS cloud infrastructure, enterprise networking, Linux, shell scripting, CI/CD, and Git-based workflow skills.
• Experience with compliance and security posture, including SOC 2, access management with Okta/IAM, and audit readiness.
• Experience working cross-functionally in a high-trust, interrupt-driven startup or similarly fast-paced environment.
• U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship and sponsorship transfer are not available.

Nice to have

• Pulumi experience.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, Java REST APIs, Snowflake, or Datadog.
• Experience in fintech, wealth management, banking/payments, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001.
