Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Full-time onsite position with up to 10% travel; evening or weekend work may be required for critical mission milestones. The role involves access to U.S. export-controlled information and requires U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $135,800–$176,400 USD per year.

What you will do
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and onboard equipment for environmental and thermal control systems.
- Design, fabricate, activate, and test pressurized ground support equipment and test articles with technicians.
- Operate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify pneumatic, hydraulic, oxygen, refrigerant, vacuum, data, and control systems operating from vacuum to 20,000 psig.
- Create manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions for thermal control systems.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and supplier teams on manufacturability, assembly, testing, component quality, and corrective actions.
- Perform hands-on assembly, integration, testing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement for tubing, heat exchangers, cold plates, pumps, fans, valves, heaters, filters, and MLI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or environmental and thermal control systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Siemens NX for design reviews and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, GD&T, root cause analysis, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience operating machinery and hand tools, with the ability to work hands-on in a team environment and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
- Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing, including qualifying U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent residency, asylum, or refugee status.
Nice to have
- Understanding of fluid systems, tube manufacturing, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with MLI manufacturing and assembly.
- Aerospace experience with paints, coatings, and adhesives.
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting fluid-component subassemblies.
