Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Propulsion)

Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end manufacturing processes for propulsion systems, including valve assembly, tube fabrication, pressure vessel integration, and engine integration.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process travelers, and process specifications for high-pressure fluid systems and propulsion hardware.
• Improve propulsion build processes and production cadence across concurrent vehicle builds.
• Implement cleanliness protocols, contamination control procedures, and propellant compatibility requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for leaks, contamination findings, assembly defects, and other propulsion non-conformances.
• Define tooling and test equipment requirements and collaborate with design engineering, technicians, and supply chain teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience with propulsion systems, fluid systems, or high-pressure hardware in aerospace or a related industry.
• Hands-on experience with tube fabrication, tube bending, tube fitting installation, and high-pressure fluid system assembly.
• Experience with propulsion cleanliness requirements, verification methods, contamination control, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and assembly models.
• Ability to diagnose build defects, drive corrective actions to closure, and regularly lift 25 lbs., bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree focused on Fluid Mechanics, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or hypersonic propulsion manufacturing and transitioning assemblies from development to production.
• Experience with high-pressure testing, energetics, explosives, hazardous materials, and propulsion acceptance testing.
• Knowledge of welding, orbital welding, machining, additive manufacturing, composites, plastics, and non-destructive evaluation methods.
