Production Manager, Asset Maintenance (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Salary: $130,000–$194,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead asset maintenance operations across manufacturing equipment, prioritizing availability, preventive maintenance completion, rapid recovery, and safe execution.
• Manage, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, leads, and technicians, including shift coverage, escalation paths, and performance expectations.
• Own CMMS performance metrics such as downtime, response time, repair cycle time, backlog, repeat failures, and preventive maintenance compliance.
• Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Supply Chain, and equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance, critical spare parts, and equipment reliability strategies based on asset criticality and production risk.
• Manage maintenance spending, vendors, repair priorities, and equipment lifecycle decisions while balancing safety, reliability, production needs, and total cost of ownership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment reliability, or manufacturing operations in aerospace, automotive, precision manufacturing, or another high-reliability production environment.
• 3+ years of experience managing maintenance teams, including direct supervision of supervisors or leads.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine control systems.
• Experience building and executing preventive maintenance, CMMS, and reliability programs that improve equipment availability and reduce repeat failures.
• Experience leading root cause analysis, coordinating OEM and vendor repairs, managing maintenance priorities, and supporting production in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical maintenance leadership experience.
• Experience with CNC machine tools, metrology equipment, automation, and manufacturing support systems.
• CMRP, RCM, TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with ERP/MRP, maintenance data analytics, spare parts optimization, and vendor or service contract management.
