Forward Deployed Engineer, Federal (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, or Tysons, Virginia, United States. Ability to travel as needed. U.S. citizenship and authorization to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship are required.

Salary: $120,000–$158,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Engineer, develop, and deploy full-stack AI-based enterprise applications on the C3 AI Platform.
• Design and deliver production applications, demonstrations, proofs-of-technology, technical deep-dives, and customer training for U.S. federal customers.
• Conduct design and code reviews, troubleshoot customer applications, and improve their quality, architecture, and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and share coding standards and design techniques.
• Write application specifications, technical documentation, and supporting artifacts.
• Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and collaborate with product management and engineering on product improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a comparable field.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience with object-oriented programming languages.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively on a cross-functional team and travel as needed.
• U.S. citizenship and existing U.S. work authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph or greater.
• Federal government or DoD experience, enterprise-scale application deployment, and customer-facing experience.
• Software development experience with JavaScript and Python.
• Git or other version control experience.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Backbone, or Angular.
• Graduate degree in STEM or a comparable field.
