Data-Focused Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, US; the role is US-based, with a preference for candidates in Maine and openness to candidates elsewhere in the United States.

Annual US hiring range: $115,000–$130,000.

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack product features using data and AI to improve customer, agent, supervisor, and administrator experiences.
• Develop backend services, APIs, workflows, and integrations connecting product systems with data and AI capabilities.
• Work with customer interaction data, conversation data, analytics models, operational datasets, and data pipelines.
• Build user-facing experiences and internal interfaces with modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with AI, Data Platform, Product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver reliable customer-facing systems.
• Write tested, maintainable code and participate in design reviews, code reviews, debugging, production support, and delivery of ambiguous projects.

Requirements

• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Python.
• Experience building full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, or data-driven product features.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript, plus experience with data systems, pipelines, analytics workflows, or data-intensive applications.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership, communication, cloud platform experience, and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies.

Nice to have

• Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Experience with event-driven systems, workflow engines, queues, or distributed systems.
• Experience with contact center, CRM, customer support, messaging, or telephony systems.
• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
