Workers Compensation Claims Examiner

Location: Alabama, United States; fully remote, with an on-site presence expected to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

What you will do

• Manage a desk and caseload of Alabama workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability, and exposure, and maintain accurate and timely reserves.
• Monitor medical treatment, claim progression, payments, documentation, and compliance.
• Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel.
• Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys.
• Communicate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the claims process.

Requirements

• Required experience handling workers’ compensation claims.
• Experience with lost time workers’ compensation claims is beneficial.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Professional, customer-focused approach when working with clients and claimants.
• High school diploma or equivalent and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Exposure to litigation management and settlement negotiations.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Adjuster licensing or ability to obtain licensing as required.
