Property Field Claims Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Fully remote for the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania territory; must reside nearby or be willing to relocate to the area at personal expense. United States. Car travel within the territory represents approximately 75% of working time.

Salary: USD $83,000–$108,000 per year.

What you will do

• Handle property and inland marine claims for the assigned region, assisting other regions as needed.
• Investigate claims, evaluate property damage, prepare estimates, obtain documentation, and complete accurate settlements.
• Handle primarily property-related losses between $25,000 and $100,000, including typical Business Income losses and occasional higher-value claims.
• Determine coverage, negotiate settlements, establish reserves, and resolve claims within delegated authority.
• Join the corporate catastrophe team as an initial responder during catastrophe events.
• Provide estimating and coverage assistance and respond to legal, regulatory, and appeals matters.

Requirements

• Approximately five years of claims experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages and computer-based damage estimating preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts.
• Proficiency with standard business and claims-specific software and efficient keyboarding skills.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
• College degree preferred.
