Traveling Journeyman Electrician (Solar)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA, USA; extensive travel across Minnesota with overnight stays required

Salary: $55–$60 per hour, plus $125 per diem, travel incentives, and overtime eligibility

What you will do

• Install photovoltaic electrical systems according to drawings, specifications, and applicable electrical codes.
• Execute or support AC and DC terminations, wire management, material takeoffs, and tool and equipment procurement.
• Interpret construction documents, wire schedules, and bills of materials.
• Mentor apprentices and crew members in the field.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and field records.
• Coordinate with foremen and project managers to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Requirements

• Valid Minnesota Journeyman Electrician License, or willingness to reciprocate an Iowa license.
• At least 5 years of experience in solar or electrical construction.
• Familiarity with photovoltaic systems and AC/DC configurations.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving history, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
