Principal Equipment Technician (Days and Nights) (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Essex Junction, United States; on-site work at the Fab 9 semiconductor manufacturing facility

Salary: $58,400–$110,300 per year, determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Monitor, sustain, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes in the assigned area.
• Schedule and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.
• Use mechanical, electronic, computer, and software skills to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Monitor, control, and test equipment for manufacturing readiness and recover tools after process interruptions.
• Document equipment events and communicate status updates and shift handoffs to lead technicians and engineers.
• Support environmental, health, safety, and security requirements and participate in training and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Either a two-year technical degree plus four years of relevant experience, two years of relevant military experience plus four years of relevant experience, or eight years of relevant experience in a related technical field.
• English fluency required for written and verbal communication.
• Basic reading, writing, computer navigation, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom for at least 10 hours per day, wear required PPE, and remain compliant with respirator-use requirements.
• Ability to work alternating 12-hour day or night shifts, stand and walk for most of the shift, climb, crouch, use hand tools, and periodically lift at least 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology, military service, or a trade.
• Six or more years of direct semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with statistical process control, defect troubleshooting, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
• Planning, organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills.
