Senior Java Developer (Cryptocurrency)

Location: Canada; hybrid schedule based out of the Etobicoke, Ontario office two days per week.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable backend integration solutions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and debug Java applications and integrations.
• Build reliable interactions between backend services and UI applications while optimizing performance, security, and user experience.
• Apply secure coding practices, conduct peer code reviews, and improve system stability and resilience.
• Monitor application performance, resolve production incidents, and contribute to post-mortem improvements.
• Guide and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience and strong knowledge of Java 8.
• In-depth experience with Spring Boot, JPA, MVC, Spring Security, and RESTful services.
• Experience with functional and unit testing, code coverage, BDD, and static analysis tools such as Sonar.
• Strong SQL skills, including DDL, DML, relational database design, and indexing.
• Proficiency with Git flow, Maven, NGINX, and Docker.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud CI/CD platforms, Linux, shell commands, AWS or GCP, Angular or React, Swagger or Postman, and Flyway.
