Security Officer II

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Required weekday shifts include 7:00am–3:30pm and/or 11:00pm–7:30am, with overtime, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.

Salary: $20–$33 USD

What you will do

• Verify identities and authorizations, issue temporary credentials, and resolve escalated access-control matters.
• Patrol buildings, perimeter areas, secure workspaces, and critical infrastructure while identifying security risks and unsafe conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and safety-related situations and prepare detailed reports.
• Escort vendors, contractors, and high-risk personnel and support special events and operational activities.
• Coordinate with other departments on security concerns and maintain accurate logs and documentation.
• Provide guidance to Security Officer I personnel and support security leadership with risk and procedural improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California BSIS Guard Card, or ability to obtain one before employment.
• Five or more years of experience in security operations, preferably in aerospace, industrial, or similarly technical environments.
• Experience with incident response, report writing, and enforcing security standards with limited supervision.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in heat, wind, cold, and varied environments.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export-control rules or otherwise be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience assisting or guiding less-experienced security officers.
• Training or certifications in de-escalation, emergency response, defensive tactics, or advanced report writing.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
