Technical Project Manager III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Build and maintain integrated schedules for avionics development across vehicle programs and internal IRAD initiatives.
• Manage backlogs, risks, mitigation plans, action items, and resource visibility for hardware, firmware, harnessing, launch vehicle systems, and spacecraft systems.
• Track system reviews, qualification and acceptance testing, flight-readiness milestones, board bring-up, harness availability, and integration-test readiness.
• Coordinate with electrical engineering leads, subject matter experts, Vehicle Program Management, IT, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to resolve technical and programmatic issues.
• Prepare design-review and program-gate documentation, support budget and cost-reduction analysis, and contribute to proposals and cost estimates.
• Automate program metrics dashboards with Python or SQL and facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives using Agile or hybrid workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical project management or program integration for complex engineering systems.
• Experience with integrated scheduling for hardware or embedded development in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in aerospace or space systems, particularly avionics, electrical systems, or spacecraft operations.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including issue tracking, dashboards, reports, documentation, templates, and macros.
• Basic Python and SQL proficiency, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate technical details as actionable plans.

Nice to have

• Experience managing qualification and acceptance test campaigns in hardware-constrained environments.
• Familiarity with system-level design reviews, program lifecycle processes, configuration management, and technical baseline maintenance.
• Experience integrating Agile practices into systems engineering or hardware-centric organizations.
• Knowledge of embedded software, real-time operating systems, or hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
• Exposure to proposal writing, cost estimating, or budget tracking.
