Master NDE Inspector - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Location: On-site in Mississippi, United States, including a government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi. Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work.

Salary: $42.64–$63.96 USD per hour

What you will do

• Inspect in-process and completed welds, weldments, and fabricated structures against applicable codes, standards, drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Interpret engineering documentation and welding requirements, and develop welding procedures for specific code requirements.
• Monitor GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes, including joint preparation, fit-up, cleanliness, preheat, interpass temperatures, consumable handling, and post-weld heat treatment.
• Perform Dye Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections and verify welding repairs.
• Oversee welding certification tests and verify welder qualifications and base-material compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, document acceptance or rejection, conduct vendor surveillance audits, and communicate findings to production and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Current or previous certification under ASNT TC-1A and/or NAS-410 for Dye Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) methods.
• Additional Level II Nondestructive Evaluation certification in Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), or Eddy Current (ET).
• 3+ years of experience participating in or leading weld quality or NDE audits.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and ASME industry standards.
• Working knowledge of surface and subsurface nondestructive evaluation methods.
• Ability to pass a US government-administered background check for on-site work.
