Certified Welding Inspector (Nuclear)

Salary: $33–$50 per hour

What you will do

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds, weldments, and welding operations.
• Verify weld quality, workmanship, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Evaluate welding processes and support the development, qualification, and improvement of WPS/PQR documentation.
• Mentor welders and contribute to technical training and best-practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality teams to resolve welding issues.
• Identify defects, address root causes, and drive continuous manufacturing quality improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma and professional certifications or demonstrated ability.
• At least 4 years of welding work experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to make clear recommendations using first-principles reasoning.
• Ability to interpret welding procedures, engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Hands-on fabrication and technical experience.
• Experience with structural and piping fabrication and welding applications.
• Experience in fast-paced engineering or highly technical environments.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
